Scientific Statement
International Journal of Innovation in Teaching and Learning Technology (IJITLT) is committed to advancing rigorous, ethical, and evidence-based scholarship in the fields of teaching, learning, educational technology, and technology-enhanced education. As an international, peer-reviewed, and open-access journal, IJITLT provides a scholarly platform for researchers, educators, practitioners, instructional designers, technology developers, policymakers, and other education professionals to disseminate original research and critically examine emerging developments in educational technology.
The journal recognizes that technological innovation has significant implications for the quality, accessibility, effectiveness, equity, and sustainability of education. Therefore, IJITLT encourages research that goes beyond describing technological innovations and provides meaningful evidence regarding their educational value, implementation, usability, effectiveness, scalability, ethical implications, and impact on learners, educators, and educational institutions.
IJITLT welcomes scientifically rigorous contributions based on appropriate theoretical frameworks, research methodologies, empirical evidence, and analytical approaches. The journal supports diverse research paradigms, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, design-based, experimental, quasi-experimental, exploratory, evaluative, and systematic research approaches, provided that the methodology is appropriate to the research questions and clearly reported.
Particular attention is given to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, generative AI, learning analytics, adaptive learning, immersive technologies, digital platforms, educational applications, and other technology-enabled innovations. Research involving these technologies should critically address their pedagogical relevance, reliability, limitations, ethical considerations, privacy and security implications, and potential effects on educational practices and outcomes.
The journal also promotes responsible and human-centered technological innovation. Studies addressing digital inclusion, accessibility, equity, privacy, cybersecurity, academic integrity, algorithmic bias, digital wellbeing, responsible AI, and ethical technology use are strongly encouraged. IJITLT recognizes that technological advancement should support meaningful educational improvement while respecting human agency, academic values, cultural diversity, and the rights of learners and educators.
All manuscripts submitted to IJITLT are expected to demonstrate originality, methodological rigor, transparency, academic integrity, and scholarly significance. Research findings should be presented objectively and supported by appropriate evidence. Authors are expected to provide sufficient methodological information to facilitate critical evaluation and, where appropriate, replication or further investigation.
IJITLT is committed to maintaining high standards of research integrity, publication ethics, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication. Manuscripts undergo editorial screening and rigorous double-blind peer review. The journal applies appropriate procedures for addressing plagiarism, research misconduct, conflicts of interest, ethical concerns, corrections, retractions, and other matters affecting the integrity of the scholarly record.
The journal encourages interdisciplinary and internationally relevant scholarship that connects educational theory, pedagogical practice, technological innovation, and empirical evidence. Through the dissemination of high-quality research, IJITLT seeks to contribute to the development of effective, inclusive, ethical, innovative, and evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning in an increasingly digital educational landscape.
